Treasurer
Ed Slivken
Ed Slivken, a retired CPA, came to the Villages initially on a part-time basis in 2009 and became a full-time resident in 2011. He began his professional career in public accounting, where he was a partner in one of the largest regional CPA firms in the U.S. He left public accounting in 1980 and moved into the private sector where he served as controller, CFO, and/or VP Finance for several airlines, a large full-service truck leasing company, and a multi-location heavy truck dealership group. Although his performing experience had ended 50 years ago in high school, throughout his life he continued to enjoy the theater and all types of music. As a CPA he helped start-up and organize a successful dinner theater, still going strong forty years later. After becoming a full-time resident in The Villages, he rekindled his active interest in the performing arts. He has been, and continues to be, involved with a number of groups including The Villages Musical Theater, Inc., The Villages Theatre Company, The Villages Pop Chorus, Smash Productions, and others. Paul Carmignani
Paul Carmignani retired to The Villages in June of 2021 from Naperville, IL with his wife Patricia. He holds a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Paul left the company as Vice President – Worldwide Engineering in December of 2020. He holds multiple patents for this technology.
Paul has always loved musical performing and after college, played Euphonium with the Naperville Municipal Band for 25 years and sang with a Barbershop Chorus and Quartet for 15 years. He was extensively involved in theater during his High School and College years, but after college, there were few opportunities. It was an extraordinary surprise to discover after retirement and moving to The Villages that these types of opportunity existed. Since rekindling the theater “bug”, he has appeared in West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Grumpy Old Men – The Musical, and Fiddler on the Roof.
Paul’s activities within the Villages include building toys at the Woodworkers Club, playing Euphonium with the Hometown Band, singing with The Villages Pops Chorus, playing Accordion with the Accordion Club, and directing the Accordion Club Band.
Paul and Pat are parents to three Children and six Grandchildren (with a seventh one on the way). Paul is happy to volunteer his time to The Villages Musical Theater. It’s clear to see that this company has had an extraordinary past and he believes it has a brilliant future.
